News: On January 14, 2009, the New England Journal of Medicine published the
results of the WHO Surgical Safety Pilot Study online. The full text of the
paper is available free of charge as an Online First publication at www.nejm.org. It will appear in print in the January 29th issue.
In his latest article, Dr. Gawande investigates how we can contain the rising cost of healthcare in the US by examining the experiences of towns on both ends of the spending spectrum. The article was published in the June 1, 2009 edition of the New Yorker and can be viewed here.
